Light Saver
Brief:
Stop a bike light from being lost during riding.
Criteria:
Light has to be easily removed for charging.
Light switch must be easily accessible.
Keeps light orientation.
Why are we losing this bike light?
When you get home and find your bike light missing, it's hard to tell what failed. I suspect that the o-ring, which stretches around the seat post, was at fault. Under constant tension, a small crack likely widened with age until it broke.

Two different product directions.

Finalising in FDM using TPU.

Simple and unobtrusive.
Designed to serve as a secondary fail-safe without interfering with the light’s existing features or function.
How strong is this design?
The entire bike can be suspended from the Light Saver alone. Here, it easily holds a 10L water jug.

How durable is the design?
After 8 months of daily use, the Light Saver showed no cracking and negligible deformation.

This project was designed for my father. After eight months of use, he has twice returned from his commute with his bike light detached and hanging only by the Light Saver, demonstrating its ability to create a safer and more cost-effective biking experience.
